While the timeline for our move is happening quite fast (We pack up Sept 30th, and drive away Oct. 1st) it is really the anticipation that is killing me. I keep trying to pause and take in all the "lasts" we will experience here with our family and friends in California. It sounds so weird to say that, I knew one day we would move, but I never realized how quickly it could happen!
Each day I pack a few boxes and have Kevin load them into our garage space- that way when we move almost everything will already be downstairs (I figure if we do a little each day- it wont seem as miserable when the day to pack it in the truck comes). So far things have been going smoothly, I feel quite accomplished because I have only paid for tape so far! All our boxes and packaging has been FREE since I went to Salvation Army and got free boxes from them- they will give you some if you donate or are moving! It was awesome! I have also been using old newspaper/grocery ads to stuff/wrap most the stuff. Lets hope it pays off and we don't end up in Seattle with boxes of broken glass! YIKES!
Since making our decision, I may have secured a part time position, and plan on nannying part time in addition. It has been my goal to get back to working with kids again, as that is my passion, my calling, and my greatest joy in life; serving families. But I will post MORE on that later! Please pray that as we get there, the Lord will guide Kevin in his job search and that he will be inspired by our new surroundings to serve wherever that may be!
We are also eagerly anticipating joining a new church! That is something brand new to us. Saint Andrews has been the church for both of our families since our parents were kids. We are so excited to go to a church and be met and known as "Kevin and Colleen Cox" Weird. We also want to join some type of sports league! Fun right!? I have never done such because I am a bit too competitive and needed the Lord to soften my insane need to win.... just being real! And I think that he has over tha last few years- so here I am- ready to go play flag football, or soccer, or volleyball, or even softball! Gasp! Never thought I'd get there! haha! Okay that is just an update for you all!
Please keep praying for peace, patience, and that we would seek GOD above all else as we continue in this new journey together! God is so faithful!
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matt 22:37-40 "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." Galatians 5:6b "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Cor 13:13

Winter in Seattle = Possible Crisis
So as we prepare to move- the one thing Kevin and I are actually nervous about is the weather change- especially since we will be moving right in time for winter. I've been looking up clothing styles and trying to get ideas for what we can buy for Kevin who owns three pairs of shoes: sandals, running shoes, and a pair of dress shoes I bought for him for our wedding. I have no idea what to do about him for the winter since he HATES shoes and doesn't exactly jump at the idea of buying winter coats, or jackets in general- he does not own an actual jacket.
Here is what I could maybe get him to wear while snowing:
However here is what he would probably want to wear:
And if I'm being honest, more like this guy in the background:
LORD HELP ME! Since this is what I found online when searching "mens winter fashion":
I mean I could probably get him to dress like that for the pure humor/ridiculousness of it- but hey- at least he'd have shoes on... Maybe I could find a happy medium with this...?
Or any of these...
I will keep you posted on our progress! Because lawd knows this will be a project. As for me.. I am looking forward to this... (Minus the awkward green coat lady)
and hope that we don't end up looking like these people...
Any winter tips for those ignorant of what "weather" really is!?

One year reflection- Second year anticipation!
It is hard to believe that our first year of marriage has already FLOWN by. Went to bachelorettes, weddings, birthdays, first road trip, friends having babies, starting new hobbies of sewing and baking, cooking new meals, second nephew joined our family, graduations, dodger games, and basically many many reasons to smile and celebrate God's faithfulness and goodness in our lives. We have been so blessed by our friends and family.
And now... in our second year... there is already a lot happening....
On August 30th we got a PUPPY! On September 4th, we celebrated our anniversary, on September 6th we made a big decision, on September 8th we told everyone, and on September 10th we celebrate my birthday, before we MOVE to SEATTLE on September 30th. Can you say it has been a busy start to our second year!? Here are some photos from our first year as newlyweds. Enjoy!
It would only be right to end with a first picture of many from Seattle, WA our new home come October!
